New Orleans Air Traffic Controllers
Air traffic controllers in the New Orleans area had a triple challenge when the rescue/relief efforts scaled up last week. They were short of staff due to people caring for their own flooded homes. Most of thier phones lines and some radios were out. And they had to handle up to 100 helicopter operations per hours, which they hadn't done before.
Kudos to the FAA's air traffic controllers and their union, National Air Traffic Controllers Union.
